Laser Dentistry can be used for a number of procedures both in hard and soft tissue.
Procedures include
- Tooth preparation for fillings
- Tooth sensitivity treatment
- Reshaping and lifting gum tissue to lengthen the appearance of the teeth
- Frenectomies (removal of tissue attachments)
- Soft tissue surgery – removal of overgrown soft tissue especially under ill fitting dentures

- Cold sores – reduces the pain associated with cold sores and mouth ulcers
Benefits
- Procedures performed using soft tissue dental lasers may not require sutures (stitches)
- Certain laser dentistry procedures do not require anesthesia
- Laser dentistry minimises bleeding
- Bacterial infections are minimised because the high energy beam sterilises the area being operated on
